The fun runs are open to everyone of any age or ability.

Children can take part on their own or run, jog, or walk with their parents, members of their family, or friends. We also welcome groups of friends, solo runners and wheelchair entrants who are keen to get more active. Run for the Children is about taking part together and above all, having fun!

All our fun runners are well rewarded for their achievement as they pass the finish line. You will receive an engraved medal and free fun-packed booklet. The booklet is crammed full with great ideas for kids and families on healthy living and exercise, so the whole family can benefit and enjoy their new healthier lifestyle!

Run for the Children is a national programme but organised locally with the help of a local council or authority, a schools sports partnership and co-ordinator, the Primary Healthcare Trust, the County Sports Partnership and often a local running club. It is also supported by the Youth Sport Trust, the Department of Health’s 5 A DAY scheme and MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do-It) programme and Runner’s World.
