This Weekend in Windsor . . .

This is going to be a bumper run!

Somebody is running in a big, beautiful feelgood drinks bottle! Give him a cheer if you spot him; it is a massive effort to raise money for charity!

Talking of charity, there’s a sponsorship form on-line for you to download from our fundraising page, so do your bit and know that every step you take makes a huge difference to the children and families who use The Childrens Trust.

Slough Junior AC invite you to a BBQ after the run to tell the world all about their club. If you would like to go and find out about the benefits of running, talk us on Saturday and find out all about it.

The registration desk will be open from 10am, so if you were waiting on the weather you can still take part (I’ve seen the forecast though and it’s lovely).

See you there!

Daventry photos are on-line now!

Check them out on our gallery pages and see if you got snapped. If you have gorgeous pictures of your achievement that you want to share, email them to us at info@runforthechildren.co.uk and we will show the world!

Check out those helmets in Daventry!

The sun peeped through those rain clouds and shone down on a gorgeous run in Daventry on Saturday - well done everyone who braved the changeable weather and joined in. It was great to see so many parent and child teams running together, it is such a bonding experience (and thrilling when you leave your old dad miles behind).

A big Thank You to the council who supported us MAGNIFICENTLY. Check out the gallery for the pictures tomorrow!

Daventry Special Prize!!

If you want to join in the fun, but have not signed up already, never fear! The registration desk will be open from 10am and lovely, smiley Run for the Children people will be there to help you.

And, YES, there is a special prize being offered to the person wearing the best Viking helmet at Daventry on Saturday, so if you have left it to the last minute, get stuck into the papier mache this evening and sculpt yourself a winner!

Double your Sponsorship Money!

A well-known drinks company is offering one lucky runner in Oxford the chance to double your sponsorship money! If you will wear their costume to do the run in Windsor, they will match, pound-for-pound, every penny people have pledged to you! You can raise twice the amount for the Children’s Trust!

If you are a fit adult, experienced in running this distance and game for a laugh in a good cause, it could be you! Phone Jennifer in the office on 01903 883941.

Well done Manchester and Milton Keynes!

What a contrast in weather! Manchester you got a soaking and Milton Keynes you put on the sunshine. But did it stop us? No way! Well done to you all who took part. Lots of smiley faces coming over the finishing line so well done to you all. Hope you’re all showing off your medals this morning. Go on, lap up the praise you deserve it and the Children’s Trust thank you for raising all that lovely money for them. Thanks to all our volunteers who did a fantastic job and to the Councils and Sports Partnerships. Take it easy this week — but do send us your photos to info@runforthechildren and look out for your photo in the paper and on tv!

Keen on Milton Keynes? Mad for it in Manchester?

The phones are ringing off the hook here at RFTC Towers with people asking; is it too late to run in Manchester or Milton Keynes this weekend? Well, the answer is, it is never too late! (unless you slept through the whole weekend and are reading this on Monday.)

Registrations desks will be open at both locations from 10am. Look for the giant inflatable sky men and you will find us!

Oxford and Brighton Photos!

Yes you are picture perfect Oxford and Brighton, take a look in our gallery to see yourselves enjoying the run. Thanks and credits must be given to Alison Kinsley-Smith for her pictures of Brighton; very kindly stepping forward and sharing her pics when our camera broke. And a massive thank you to the Oxford Mail for providing some very professional images of the Oxford event. We love you guys!

Cold Running Water in Portsmouth!

Well done Portsmouth, you brave lot! You were there, with grins on your faces, despite the rain! The weather certainly was not what we ordered, but the atmosphere was great and everybody had a good time splashing round the run route. Look out for the coverage in The Portsmouth News.

Our special thanks go to Portsmouth City Council, Havant Athletics Club and the Mountbatten Centre. You are a special bunch indeed.

Tick tock time is running away with Portsmouth!

Hello Portsmouth! You are in for a treat.

We have a bouncy castle, face painting, gladiator dual, tri-golf and circus skills on top of our run and all provided by your very own city council Sports Development unit! Lucky, lucky you!

If you want to join in the fun but have not yet registered, don’t worry your pretty heads about it, get yourselves to the Mountbatten Centre and the registration desk will be open from 10am. The lovely ladies there will be happy to help and you can Run for the Children and have a brilliant time. See you there!
